Bid On Jism 2 Star Sunny Leones Lingerie For Charity

first_imgWho better than the team of the new film Jism 2 to show that there is nothing sexier than compassion for animals? Director Pooja Bhatt and co-producer Dino Morea have donated the wardrobe of Jism 2 to benefit PETA India’s homeless-dog adoption campaign and other initiatives.Costumes, including Sunny Leone’s lingerie, dresses and gowns as well as attire worn by the male actors Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh, will go on auction on eBay for ten days starting 3 August, the first day of the film’s release. The details of the auction can be found at PETAIndia.com.“With Jism 2 supporting PETA it’s clear, compassion for animals is super sexy”, says PETA India Chief Functionary Poorva Joshipura. “The proceeds from the auction of Jism 2’s wardrobe will go directly toward PETA’s efforts to encourage homeless dog adoption, spay and neuter and toward our other lifesaving campaigns. If you respect animals, one easy and fun way to help stop their suffering is to make a bid.”In India, tens of millions of homeless dogs struggle to survive on the streets. Many of them go hungry, are injured or killed, are hit by vehicles or are abused by cruel people. Countless others are kept in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes for them. Every time a dog has a litter, it means fewer homes for the dogs who are languishing in animal shelters or roaming the streets. The answer is simple: always have your dog sterilised. PETA India’s homeless-dog adoption campaign encourages all prospective dog guardians always to adopt from an animal shelter or take in a homeless animal from the streets and never to buy from a breeder or a pet shop – both of which only add to the problem. Both Leone and Morea have separately shot ads for PETA India’s homeless-dog adoption campaign. Bhatt has rescued and adopted eight dogs from the streets, and Hooda helps animals in distress. Those who wish to take part in the auction are invited to visit PETAIndia.com for details.last_img read more

Tuchel explains Neymars best position

first_imgParis Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel will continue to use Neymar as a number 10 and explained why ahead of tonight’s Ligue 1 clash with Stade ReimsThe 26-year-old was moved from the wing to the middle in last Sunday’s 3-1 win at Rennes. It marked a big change for Neymar, who has primarily operated on the left wing since arriving from Barcelona last year. But Tuchel has done this a few times now and explained he intends to continue doing so as it allows Neymar to be more involved in attacking plays.“Of course he likes to be there and we like to have him in the number 10 position because he is involved in every attack, not only from the left,” said Tuchel in a press conference.“He has the chance to be a bit more free and be in the centre of the game and we have the chance to involve him in every attack we make.“If you involve Neymar in your attacks, there’s a high possibility that you create chances.PSG, Neymar, Ligue 1PSG ultras sent a warning letter to Neymar Manuel R. Medina – September 14, 2019 Brazilian superstar Neymar might play today his first game of the season for Paris Saint-Germain and the team’s ultras have warned him.“This is how I think about players, so what can we get from them and what do we want from them and this is why it’s a good option to play with Ney in the centre.”Neymar has managed four goals and two assists in five Ligue 1 games this season.PSG currently lead the league standings by five points from Lille after winning all six of their opening games.Total focus from @neymarjr 👊🔴🔵 pic.twitter.com/bfSCkMWpgA— Paris Saint-Germain (@PSG_English) September 25, 2018last_img read more

Dirty Sergio Ramos adds one more victim to his hitlist

first_imgDuring the first half against Viktoria Plzen, defender Sergio Ramos added one more victim to his hit-list of players that suffer his relentless elbow aggressions. As we have already pointed out before, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is unhinged and needs to be disciplined from his violent behavior.UEFA and the referee committee needs to start taking notes with this player because he is truly one of the most violent ones in world football, he just keeps going after his markers with those elbows and he keeps repeating himself because no one has taken the necessary measures with his erratic behavior. We had already seen how much damage can Sergio Ramos make when he wants, he took the liberty to injure both Mohamed Salah and Loris Karius during the Champions League final from last season and nobody from UEFA said a single thing. This season in La Liga, Ramos has already hit other opponents and the officials from the Spanish competition also don’t seem to care because he is a Real Madrid player and he obviously gets a pass that players from other clubs don’t.The latest incident has taken place in the Czech Republic during Real Madrid’s 5-0 victory against Viktoria Plzen, Ramos got away with it again and he didn’t even get booked.⚠ ¡Durísimo codazo de #SergioRamos! ⚠y ni amarilla se llevó… pic.twitter.com/1oVfMO4qHB— MedioTiempo (@mediotiempo) November 7, 2018The worst part of this was that unlike the final against Liverpool, Real Madrid didn’t need the dirty football that Sergio Ramos plays when the club is not having their best day. Many might say that this wasn’t intentional, but when a certain action keeps repeating itself, it simply can’t be considered as an accident.Sergio Ramos knows very well what he is doing and where he places his forearm when he tries to protect the ball or get ahead in the position as he struggles with a rival player. It’s all about that nasty habit of always placing his arm in a very dangerous area without thinking about the consequence of his actions, this time there was a victim that unfortunately got a fractured nose and bled all over the grass as soon as he received the nasty hit from Sergio Ramos.Viktoria Plzen defender Milan Havel was the unfortunate soul who suffered Sergio Ramos’ wrath this time, and the Spanish defender acknowledged the incident after the match but he confirmed that he would never go after any player’s livelihood.¡OJO! “¿El CODAZO? Es una ACCIÓN FORTUITA. Nunca voy a HACER DAÑO a un compañero. Le he puesto un MENSAJE a Havel” @SergioRamos en DIRECTO en #ChiringuitoRamos! pic.twitter.com/VRE9StmreQJose Mourinho, Lionel MessiMourinho: “Lionel Messi made me a better coach” Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Jose Mourinho believes the experience of going up against Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi at Real Madrid made him a greater coach.— El Chiringuito TV (@elchiringuitotv) November 7, 2018“I obviously never go after any of my peers with the intention to hurt them,” said Ramos after the match via Diario AS.“I have spoken with the player actually, I went to the locker room looking for him but he wasn’t there because he was undergoing tests to determine the damage on his nose but I did send messages asking for his well being.”“It’s clear that I did hit him but I never intended to hurt him, the problem is that the nose is very problematic and even I have suffered when it bleeds so much.”“When you have been in a club for so long and you are the Real Madrid and the National Team captain you tend to be under the spotlight. I believe that I’ve managed critics quite well and I will never change my ways.”“I hope I can be in this club for a long time despite a headache that we may cause a lot of people. With the Salah incident, it’s true that sometimes you can be afraid of the consequences of what you do, I really didn’t think about hitting anyone before that problem but it’s very different now.”“The truth is that I won’t change, mainly because I have never played with the intention of hurting any of my peers.”“I have fallen injured many times, I also have broken my nose before, I still remember the nasty tackle I received during the Spain-England match in Real Betis’ stadium and nobody said anything,” he concluded.¿Cuántas agresiones más le van a permitir a Sergio Ramos? ¡¡Esto es una vergüenza!! pic.twitter.com/lzmTU5Nr17— Zona_Blaugrana (@Zona_Blaugrana) November 7, 2018What do you think about Sergio Ramos’ latest violent moment with a rival this Wednesday? Lawmakers chide Google for making you work to get out of its

first_imgSenior privacy counsel for Google Will DeVries testifies during a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Alex Wong/Getty Images It’s not easy finding privacy online — and Congress members want to change that.Lawmakers called out Google on Tuesday at a Senate hearing on data privacy, pointing out how many hoops average people need to jump through to stop the tech giant from tracking them.Google lets people opt out of location and data tracking, and notes that people consent to providing their data by agreeing to its privacy policy. Sen. John Kennedy, a Republican from Louisiana, criticized Google’s privacy policy, telling Will DeVries, the company’s senior privacy counsel, that the average person doesn’t read those documents.”You can hide a dead body in there and nobody would ever find it,” Kennedy said at the hearing.    The hearing took a look at privacy legislation like the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and California’s Consumer Privacy Act, and how lawmakers in the US could create a bill that improves on existing laws. The panel included representatives from Google, Intel, DuckDuckGo, Californians for Consumer Privacy and the Center for Democracy and Technology. Congress has held multiple hearings on data privacy with tech giants and privacy advocates over the last year, with the hope of drafting a federal privacy law for the US. Multiple privacy scandals and data breaches involving tech giants have boosted momentum for regulation, but there are still arguments on how the law should work. The debate on Tuesday centered around opt-in versus opt-out consent. “Our current notice and consent model is broken,” Michelle Richardson, the Privacy and Data project director at the Center for Democracy and Technology, said in her opening remarks. “We need Congress to think much bigger and instead of keeping this model limping along, move the privacy burden back to where it belongs: the companies who collect and use our data.”Opt-in consent means you have to agree to all uses of your data before it’s collected. The GDPR requires this, and that’s why you were flooded with hundreds of “Privacy Policy update” emails last May.  Opt-out consent is the current status quo, where people’s data is collected by default if they use a service, forcing them to go to their privacy settings to shut off the data gathering. “There is significant evidence that defaults are sticky, and consumers rarely alter their default privacy settings,” said Sen. Mazie Hirono, a Democrat from Hawaii. “The privacy regime should be an opt-in.” Several lawmakers used Google as an example of how much data could be collected under default privacy settings. After DeVries told lawmakers that the data Google collects provides a benefit to users, Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, asked for specifics. The Google senior privacy counsel started explaining that Maps needs your location to provide accurate directions when Graham interjected, “The phone is off.”DeVries said that Android phones still need your location data to “perform basic functions.”Sen. Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, described Google’s location tracking on Android devices, citing a Vanderbilt University study that found its phones sent data about 14 times an hour. Google responded to the study from last August, arguing that the research contained “wildly misleading information.” Hawley also cited a report finding that Android devices were storing location data even when Location History is disabled. “They think they can opt out of the tracking you’re performing, but they can’t meaningfully opt out,” Hawley said. “It’s kind of like that old Eagles song, ‘You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.'”DeVries admitted that Google should do a better job of explaining its location services and make its privacy policy clearer, but he didn’t agree with opt-in consent for privacy regulation. Tech giants like Google, Intel and Apple have argued against opt-in consent, saying that it causes “click fatigue” and citing the GDPR as an example. After the GDPR came into effect, millions of people received hundreds of notifications asking them to opt-in to new privacy policies.”I wouldn’t want to overwhelm users by having opt-in for everything. I worry it would cause click fatigue, and people would just start agreeing to everything,” DeVries said. David Hoffman, associate general counsel and global privacy officer for Intel, agreed, telling lawmakers that opt-in consent would put too much of a burden on people. In some cases, opt-in consent has become a “take it or leave it” approach, meaning that if you don’t agree to provide your data, you won’t be able to use the service. Privacy advocates warned against that, pointing out that the policy sometimes gives tech giants even more power. “The one in Europe is opt-in, and once you’ve opted in, the companies can sell your data, and that’s my worry,” said Alistair Mactaggart, the chief advocate behind California’s Consumer Privacy Act. “Once you’ve opted-in, it’s business as usual.” Several other senators called for opt-in consent for data privacy, including Democratic Sen. Diane Feinstein from California and Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee.”I would like my privacy to be protected, and it seems to me that if somebody has a proposal, I should be able to say yes or no,” Feinstein said. “I think the way one would know that they’re protected is that they have to be able to opt in as opposed to opt out.”Originally published March 12, 12:20 p.m.Correction, 3:02 p.m.: David Hoffman’s title was misstated during the hearing. US closes Mexican border crossing hurls tear gas

first_imgA migrant family, part of a caravan of thousands traveling from Central America en route to the United States, run away from tear gas in front of the border wall between the US and Mexico in Tijuana, Mexico on 25 November. Photo:US authorities shut the country’s busiest border crossing and fired tear gas into Mexico on Sunday to repel Central American migrants approaching the border after US president Donald Trump vowed the asylum-seekers would not easily enter the country.Traffic in both directions was suspended for several hours at the San Ysidro port of entry between San Diego and Tijuana, US officials said, disrupting trade at the most heavily trafficked land border in the Western Hemisphere. Pedestrian crossings and vehicle traffic later resumed, officials said.Tensions on the border had been rising in recent days, with thousands of Central American migrants who arrived in a caravan camped out in a sports stadium in Tijuana. On Sunday, Mexican police broke up the latest in a series of daily protests, triggering a rush toward the US border.US Customs and Border Protection officers stopped the migrants with a volley of canisters emitting large clouds of gas as US and Mexican government helicopters clattered overhead. The Mexican government said it had retaken control of the border crossing after nearly 500 migrants tried to cross the US border “in a violent manner,” and vowed to immediately deport Central Americans who attempt to enter the United States illegally.Trump has raised alarm for weeks about the caravan of Central American migrants as it approached the United States, with its members planning to apply for asylum on reaching the country. The mostly Honduran migrants are fleeing poverty and violence and have said they would wait in Tijuana until they could request asylum in the United States, despite growing US measures to tighten the border.Hundreds of caravan members including women and children protested peacefully on Sunday with chants of “We aren’t criminals! We are hard workers.” As they neared the US border, they were stopped by Mexican authorities, who told them to wait for permission. As the morning wore on, and it became clear they would not get permission, people started to express frustration.Military Police DeployedGroups of migrants, some of them bearing the Honduran flag, broke off and headed toward the border fence, where US Customs and Border Protection officers gathered on the other side, backed by US military police, San Diego police and the California Highway Patrol. The Americans responded with tear gas after the migrants hit them with projectiles, US Customs and Border Protection said on Twitter.”Border Patrol agents deployed tear gas to dispel the group because of the risk to agents’ safety,” the statement said.Protesters were caught between the Mexican and US authorities. A young woman fell to the ground unconscious, and two babies cried, tears streaming from the gas, a Reuters witness said.”They want us to wait in Mexico but I for one am desperate. My little girl is sick and I don’t even have money for milk,” said Joseph Garcia, 32, of Honduras. “I can’t stand it anymore.”Trump has deployed military forces to the border to support the Border Patrol and threatened on Saturday to close the entire southern border.Military police were sent to the border crossing and military engineers moved barricades as part of the enforcement, the US Northern Command said in a statement on Sunday.”Department of Defense military personnel will not be conducting law enforcement functions, but are authorized to provide force protection for Customs and Border Protection personnel,” the statement said.An average of 70,000 vehicles and 20,000 pedestrians cross from Mexico to the United States at San Ysidro each day, according to the US General Services Administration.Duncan Wood, director of the Mexico Institute at the Wilson Center research group in Washington, called the closure a “drastic response” and said it would cost “many millions of dollars.”US and Mexican negotiators met on Sunday to discuss a plan to keep the Central Americans in Mexico while their asylum claims are heard. Normally, asylum-seekers announce their intention on arriving at US ports of entry or after crossing the border illegally.Trump has been pushing for a US-Mexico border wall and warned on Thursday there could be a government shutdown next month if the US Congress failed to provide funding. Sunday’s events took place at one of the stretches where there is a physical border barrier.last_img read more

UPDATE Rescuers Recover Remains Of Five People Who Died In Burnt Apartments

first_img Share Image: City of San Marcos via FacebookSan Marcos Mayor John Thomaides (center) provided an update on the recovery efforts during a press conference held on Monday morning. The City of San Marcos said Monday that the remains of five people have been discovered in two apartment buildings destroyed by fire in that city this past weekend. The City noted in a news release that “recovery efforts will continue until all areas are searched and cleared” and added that the bodies have been transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s office for identification.Positive identification could take more than a week.Additionally, five residents of the apartments remain missing. They are James Miranda, Haley Frizzell, Belinda Moats, Dru Estes and David Ortiz, who is originally from Pasadena.San Marcos is approximately 30 miles southwest of Austin. The apartment buildings are the Iconic Village Apartments and Vintage Pads Apartments, which served as off-campus residences for students attending Texas State University.City officials announced the bodies were found Sunday and added that five people are still unaccounted for.Local media outlets reported that David Ortiz,  a young man from Pasadena, is among those unaccounted for.Over 200 people displacedOver 200 residents have been displaced. The fire injured at least six other people, including one who is being treated for life-threatening injuries. The Austin-American Statesman reported some survivors say they were alerted by knocks on their doors, rather than fire or smoke alarms. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is investigating, but the cause of the fire has not been determined yet. Officials say the investigation could take months. Many survivors said no fire or smoke alarms alerted them to the fire.San Marcos Fire Marshal Kelly Kistner said at a press conference held Monday that there were no sprinkler systems installed because the buildings were built around 1970.“There’s been no remodel that we are aware of that would require them to have brought sprinklers up to date or into the building. The building was in its original condition as it was code compliant when it was built. Sprinklers were not a requirement of construction at that time and they are not a requirement of existing buildings given the current code,” Kistner noted.San Marcos Fire Department Chief Les Stephens said there is no requirement for older buildings to come up to current code unless a major remodel is planned. “As an older town, we have structures, unfortunately, that were built, and they’re period correct, and the safety of the things that had to be in place at the time they were constructed is there.”The fire injured at least six people, including one person treated for injuries at San Antonio Military Medical Center.Resource CenterThe City of San Marcos will host a Resource Center for all residents of the Iconic Village apartments, as well as residents of Buildings L & M at Vintage Pads apartments on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center.Organizations will be on site to answer questions and provide information on assistance programs available to residents affected by the fire.last_img read more

Silkworms spinning spider webs

first_img Firm uses genetic modification to coax spider silk from silkworms © 2011 PhysOrg.com (PhysOrg.com) — A spiders silk is strong and more elastic and has a large range of possible medical applications. However, spiders have a history of being territorial and prone to cannibalism, so the idea of having a large population to produce commercial amounts of silk is not possible. However, silk worms have been producing their silk commercially for some time. Journal information: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences This document is subject to copyright. The results of this recent research have been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. These new genetically modified silkworms are able to produce composite fibers that contain silk threads from both the spider and the silk worm.On average, these fibers have proven stronger than the fibers produced by either the silkworm or the spider. This could possible open the door for large scale production and the use of these fibers in many different medical applications.Possible applications include artificial ligaments and tendons, tissue scaffolds and new biomaterials for wound dressing. The fibers are also strong enough that they could provide a possible new material to be used in bulletproof jackets and vests. In order to make this happen, the researchers transferred the key spider genes responsible for the thread making into the silkworm. Given that silkworms are capable of creating mile-long threads in their cocoons, they provide a way to greatly increase the stronger threads. This is not the first time that researchers have tried to create genetically modified spider alternatives. Synthetic spider genes have been placed into bacteria, animals and plants. However, none of these were able to produce enough pure silk protein needed for commercial production. The successful use of the silkworm may prove to finally be the solution they have been looking for. Explore furtherlast_img read more

Researchers conduct first quantitative study of liquid water combining dielectric relaxation and

first_img Journal information: Physical Review Letters © 2016 Phys.org As many researchers have found, water is far more complex than it appears at first glance—it is made of H2O molecules that are connected via hydrogen bonds that form and break over time as the water is subjected to other external objects, processes and forces. In this new effort, the researchers note that many spectroscopic techniques have been used to study the underlying mechanisms involved in water action, revealing such things as dielectric relaxation (amount of time it takes for electrons to return to an equilibrium state after being excited), amounts of infrared absorption, Ramen and neutron scattering and the absorption of x-rays. Researchers have combined techniques that involved neutron scattering and dielectric relaxation in the past, but they involved only qualitative observations. In this new effort, the researchers have done so quantitatively.By conducting a variety of experiments on dielectric relaxation, the team found that they were able to depict the relaxation of dipoles in liquid water—the part of the process that is responsible for determining its overall dielectric response. And by conducting other experiments involving neutron scattering, they were able to better understand the connection between molecular dynamics and dielectric behavior. By looking at the results together, the researchers were able to confirm the existence of two processes related to the way molecules are diffused and the associations that are involved when hydrogen bonds are forged and broken. Also, they note their work revealed three processes at frequencies below 3 THz—local, relaxational and vibrational and diffusive. The team notes also that their findings are similar in some respects to experimental observations of molecular actions in polymers. Researchers explain a decades-old conundrum over the dielectric response of ice Explore further (Phys.org)—A team of researchers from several institutions in Spain and France has conducted the first quantitative study of liquid water combining dielectric relaxation and neutron scattering, and in so doing, has revealed three processes at frequencies below 3 THz. In their paper published in the journal Physical Review Letters, the team describes how they combined two water analysis techniques to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms that control the dielectric constant.center_img Citation: Researchers conduct first quantitative study of liquid water combining dielectric relaxation and neutron scattering (2016, October 25) retrieved 18 August 2019 from https://phys.org/news/2016-10-quantitative-liquid-combining-dielectric-neutron.html Credit: George Hodan/public domain This document is subject to copyright. DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.117.185501ABSTRACTThe analysis of neutron scattering results on H dynamics (H2O) and the dynamic structure factor (D2O) around the intermolecular peak and at intermediate length scales in terms of the susceptibilities reveals three processes (diffusive, local relaxational and vibrational) at frequencies below 3 THz, to which the contributions commonly invoked in dielectric studies can be directly mapped. We achieve a unified description of the results from both techniques, clarifying the nature of the molecular motions involved in the dielectric spectra and their impact on the structural relaxation.last_img read more
