In the fourth, Syracuse (4-9) tallied six but only scored two runs in an 8-2 loss to No. 3 Florida (17-0). The Orange threatened in the first inning after loading the bases with no outs. Yet, after sophomore Gabby Teran was thrown out at home, senior Hannah Dossett and sophomore Alex Acevedo struck out, leaving SU scoreless. On the first at bat in the bottom of the first, Florida junior Amanda Lorenz launched a homerun to center field.The next inning, the Gators added two more runs with a two-out single from junior Kendyl Lindaman.Through three innings, sophomore Sophie Dandola had allowed five runs. She finished the full six innings, conceding six earned runs on eight hits and five walks. Dandola had only allowed eight earned runs in her previous seven appearances for the Orange. The Orange wouldn’t score until the sixth inning when Dossett drove in sophomore Neli Casares-Maher.
